IPO Feature: Normally investors are more than happy to see that a company they invested in is getting acquired. But what if the target company just went public and is selling out for only slightly more than where it first started trading -- or, even worse, at a discount to its IPO price? Apparently, even the little guy is finally capitalizing on IPOs, now that there are fewer issues and less demand. Here's the stat - if you invested in each of the past 40 IPOs (though I'm not sure this 40 is the last 40 tech, or just the last 40) at the opening bell price, you would be up 36%. And of the 40, only 8 are below the offering price. |

Big ipo today from Accelerated Networks. They had a 220% pop--the kind of company you expect it from, technology that shuttles data and voice over one broadband line. But I also saw a list of next week's scheduled IPOs and it is bigger list than I have seen in months. Now, that is not to say that all of these companies are actually going to start trading, but it might be a light at the end of the long, dark tunnel.
