Stop the presses! HealthCentral IPO'd this week, and actually finished under the offering price. In its first day of trading, they dropped $1 1/8 to $9 7/8 after selling 7.5 million shares at a price of $11 per share. |

HealthCentral.com is a medical information portal, with news, articles, and advice. The site was launched in 1996 by radio talk show host Dr. Dean Edell and Preview Travel founder James Hornthal, each of whom owns about one fifth of the company. Through a partnership with mail order pharmacy Medi-Mall, the company operates ePills.com, where surfers can order prescription drugs. The company recently filed to go public but a date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
