Hotel Reservations Network, a spinoff of Barry Diller's USA Networks, sells rooms for some 1,200 hotels in 40 European and North American cities through its two Web sites hoteldiscount.com and 180096hotel.com, and more than 2,000 affiliated sites. Their online services allow comparisons for hotel availability, price, and amenities, as well as the ability order and confirm reservations in a matter of seconds. The company has room supply agreements with many of the nation's leading hotel chains, including the Hilton, Sheraton, Best Western, and Hampton Inn. The company is expected to go public soon, although an official date has not yet been set. (source: SEC filing) |
