ITXC Corp's network, ITXC.net, routes phone calls over the internet at lower cost than over traditional phone networks. Its WWeXchange service allows carriers, ISPs, and others to offer international telephone service. ITXC (which stands for Internet Telephony Exchange Carrier) was founded in 1997 by former AT&T and Microsoft exec Tom Evslin, who owns one-quarter of the company. VocalTec owns 19% and Intel owns 12%. The company filed to go public in June, but an official date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
