The numbers were reported today, and the market seemed to like them, but I wasn't impressed. 65% growth over the same quarter last year, and net margins of about minus 60%. No thanks, there are better places for me to put my money. |

One factor in the stock's favor was the belief that the Fed's 25 basis-point rate hike earlier this week may benefit a company that promises to cut costs typically associated with mortgage loans. This isn't worth a 90% jump, of course, but it does partially explain the rise. |

Mortgage.com shot up 90% today, on no news, after not really moving at all in the first two weeks after its IPO. Very strange... |

Mortgage.com helps home buyers shop around for mortgage rates and services through its mortgage.com web site. Mortgage.com offers access to over 50 lenders, including GE Capital Mortgage Services, Intuit Lender Services, and Fleet Mortgage. The company recently filed to go public but a date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
