Saw this on upside today after the excitement of yesterday. Maybe this will help you think about jumping in, smario: The past week has been filled with enough corporate intrigue to fill an entire John Grisham novel. (source: Upside) http://upside.com/News/3963c4650.html |

Well, it dropped another 8 points today...at this rate, we will be back to 20 in no time! ![]() Seriously though, isn't this just a buying opportunity? As far as I can tell, the reason for the drop is Lane's resignation and the one downgrade. Why would the resignation necessarily reflect badly on Oracle? He probably left to head another company (after some time off) - he certainly wasn't going to head up Oracle any time soon. And downgrades are a dime a dozen. But anytime a company like Oracle drops 12 points in a couple days, I really feel a buying opportunity has presented itself - it doesn't happen often. |

Well, maybe now is not the best time to jump in. J.P. Morgan downgraded the stock today. Sure it's just one downgrade, but of a significant company from a significant company. Anyone know the reason? |

Wow, I'm kicking myself over this one. I was looking at Oracle a year ago at this time - anyone who invested then would be up almost 1000%! And it's not like Oracle was an unknown...they were already established in their market dominance. And now this whole wireless shift has me real excited. But the question of the moment is always this: is it too late to invest in Oracle, even for the long term? Looking at the chart of the three years before '99, the stock didn't do much at all. Could that happen for the next three years as well? If I decide the answer is no, I'm going to jump in with both hands tied behind my back. |

Is database giant Oracle turning itself into a wireless company? You might be asking yourself that question following some of Oracle's recent moves. In many ways, the answer is yes. (source: Upside) http://upside.com/Upshot/395003c50.html |

Oracle Corporation hit and passed its short-term target of $70.00. It is now dropping, probably from profit taking. Traders, you may want to exit your positions. Investors, Oracle is still strong for the long-term haul. [Note: This message has been edited by Mayor of Investorville] |
