daffy, it actually was a spinoff of Hyperfeed technologies, not of PCQuote. Either way, it delayed its IPO after already dropping the offering price. Two signs that aren't too good. I don't really think its that amazing a product. Jake |

I don't think having something substantial to bring to public ownership entered into their decision. I'm guessing just wanted to make some quick money off of internet stock mania. This IPO is for PCQuote.com, the web site, not the whole company. An IPO spinoff makes sense when the entity being spun off is fundamentally different from its parent (for example, Microsoft, a software company, spinning off Expedia, an online travel agency). PC Quote spinning off PCQuote.com? Where's the logic in that? I don't think there is any. |

PCQuote.com cut the size of its planned IPO to 5 million shares from 7.75 million and lowered the expected price range to $8 to $10 a share. Can someone tell me where the demand is coming from? I've found ten times more here at Investorville & InvestorGuide, and other sites as well, than pcquote; i'm not saying they shouldn't be going public...i'm just wondering at what point a company feels they have something substantial to bring to public ownership. |

PCQuote.com provides free stock quotes and other financial resources for investors at its web site. It also delivers real-time data through subscription services, which account for about 80% of revenues. PCQuote.com was incorporated in 1999 by its parent, market data provider PC Quote, from which it is being spun off. After the IPO, PC Quote will own about half of the company. The company filed to go public in June, but an official date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
