Sources who have gotten an early look at Apple Computer's Mac OS X Public Beta tell ZDNet News that while the first end-user version of the new OS is more stable and feature-complete than its pre-release predecessors, it lacks many everyday features Mac users take for granted. Good use of industry standard busses and interfaces and a little complicated. And I guess it comes in a few colors and functinal variations.
I guess its alright. Sells pretty well and people say they like it.

apple users are stupid when they switch, its less time and hassle to write letters to software app manufacurers and then wait for tha apple release than to wait for windows to get it right in the releases. The ones that will survive will support all three.
But dont get me wrong, nothing against windows. Bills a great guy and all.

To me that suggests that iMac buyers are people who don't know any better and buy one or two Apples before moving on to Windows PCs. Apple is like AOL... they lure beginners with fancy colors and training wheels, but quickly lose them to the competition.

that also suggests to me that Macs are better at increasing the size of the market...
That ability to is invaluable!
Do you have any numbers to back up your claim that AOL loses a lot of member to competition?
I know some people switch once they realize some other service is better for them, but there are switching costs involved and lots of people don't want to incur those costs.
