Analysts have been raising their earnings estimates recently. Three months ago the consensus was $2.03 for FY99, but now it’s $2.47. And in that time the stock has actually given up a few points. Strange. |

Actually, it’s quite the reverse. CompUSA just reported record iMac sales for the second time since the product's retail rollout on August 15. Last weekend's iMacs sales were the largest since the product's initial launch in August, making iMac the best selling personal computer in CompUSA's history. "We're seeing iMac continue to gain momentum with first-time users and families who want to explore the Internet," said Jim Halpin, CompUSA president and CEO. |

My big fear is that the iMac is losing momentum. There was a lot of buzz around it when it launched, but it seems like that has died down, and the sales might follow. |
