from the current Upside: "With a background in supplying enterprise mobile data systems, Aether has created an underlying technology and outsourcing service system to meet the mobile data needs of enterprises, financial-service companies and consumers alike. With a little more time and elbow grease, it can set the standard for deploying mobile data systems all over the world. Aether Systems licenses its Aether Intelligent Messaging (AIM) software, which acts as a bridge between corporate applications and handheld wireless devices. The company focuses primarily on the financial services industry, and is in the process of acquiring Mobeo, a provider of financial information to pagers. AMD's NexGen owns 37% of the company, and Telcom Ventures owns 26%. The company filed to go public in August but a date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
