Alamosa PCS Holdings is a wireless carrier which provides PCS service under the Sprint PCS brand name, one of a few regional affiliates that uses the popular brand to access Sprint's national network. Alamosa owns exclusive rights to the Sprint PCS brand in its territory. Founded in 1998, Alamosa is building a digital CDMA (code division multiple access) network. It has launched service in Texas and New Mexico and plans to expand into Arizona, Colorado, and Wisconsin. The company is expected to go public soon, although an official date has not yet been set.
