This company's Terabit Switch Router (TSR) is used to prioritize, manage, and transmit large volumes of data over high-speed fiber-optic networks. The router maximizes available network bandwidth to handle tasks such as delivering streaming video and voice data using internet protocol. The company markets to telecom and internet service providers, primarily in North America, directly and through systems integrators and distributors. Telecom equipment maker Nortel Networks owns about 17% of Avici. The company plans to raise $115 million but an IPO date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
