Sohu.com, (Sohu means "search fox") operates China's leading Internet portal and search directory with cataloged links to more than 250,000 Chinese language Web sites. It also offers a search engine and 12 content channels covering news, sports, and business. Seven specialized channels offer horoscopes, TV listings, and weather information. The site is building e-commerce areas for consumers and business-to-business auctions. Chairman and CEO Charles Zhang launched sohu.com in 1998. The company plans to go public soon and hopes to raise $86 million (source: SEC filing). |
