SupplierMarket.com is an online matchmaker offering online bidding between buyers and suppliers of minimally engineered parts. Parts exchanged on SupplierMarket.com include screws, fasteners, corrugated packaging, and blow-molded plastics. Buyers submit requests for quotes on a part and then select registered suppliers from whom they want to receive bids. Suppliers then bid in a live online auction. The company hopes its Web site will improve information flows and supply-and-demand imbalances in the industrial sector. It plans to raise $100 million and go public soon, although an official date has not yet been set. (source: SEC filing) |
