The company uses proprietary digital technology, instead of traditional analog electronics, to create smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient amplifier integrated circuits. The amplifiers are used in audio electronics (including DVDs and car stereos) and high-speed telecommunications networks. Tripath, which outsources its production, also is developing amplifiers for digital cell phones. The company plans to raise $150 million but an IPO date hasn't been set yet. (source: SEC filing) |
