BroadbandNow provides high-speed Internet access using multiple broadband technologies: cable modem, DSL, Ethernet, and wireless. Its IP-based (Internet protocol) reaches 23 US markets. To increase its subscriber base, BroadbandNOW partners with property managers, private cable operators, and utilities. The firm also teams up with content providers such as Yahoo! to provide content designed for broadband users. Microsoft and Nortel Networks both own a stake in the company. The company plans to go public soon and hopes to raise $115 million (source: SEC filing). |
