The integrated communications provider offers local and long-distance phone service as well as Internet access to small and midsized businesses and residential customers in the northeastern US. Broadview signs up customers and resells communications services from suppliers, such as Bell Atlantic, until it has enough users to deploy its own network facilities. The firm's OPENnet software allows Broadview to easily switch customers between networks without billing or customer service problems. The company plans to go public soon and hopes to raise $125 million (source: SEC filing). |
